'PETS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES SO WHY SHOULDN'T THEIR RAMP'
Over the years Archie's Workshop has made many ramps for lots of different dogs, cats, house rabbits and even a bearded dragon! Some pets have specific requirements or certain medical conditions that call for their ramp to have an even gentler slope or higher sides. Some need their ramp design to be a little more unique, while others just want to make their unique idea a reality. Here are just a few of the custom designs Archie's Workshop has made. A few of these designs have made it to our range but don't let that stop you. If you have an idea then just let us know and we'll crack open the tub of designing crayons and get started.
Naala, Leopold and Cleo's Bedroom Ramp with Hideaway
This gorgeous trio needed a safe route to bedtime especially as little Pomeranian Naala is blind. We made this ramp with high sides to make sure they could all climb to bed in safety and style. Mum Tamara also asked if we could add a hideaway beneath for secret daytime snoozes...We couldn't resist!
Oscar's Garden Lookout Post
Sam and Simon needed to give their Dachshund Oscar a boost so he could keep a close watch over his garden. We came up with this bunk/ ramp designed to perfectly fit the space next to the window. Now Oscar can make sure he keeps tabs on all those pesky birds and squirrels.
Kirsty's Compact Ramp
Kirsty needed a ramp for Mash her Dachshund to reach her bed but needed it to be as compact as possible as space was limited. We modified an earlier design to create this space-saving ramp.
Cavachon Elle's Windowsill Lookout Steps
I think this might just be one of our favourite bespoke designs of 2019. Hoomum Maureen asked if we could make a custom set of steps for her Cavachon Elle to reach her daytime windowsill lookout post. We suggested adding a little snoozing spot below and adding some soft washable fleecy bedding up top and downstairs for some added Cavachon comfort. Archie and Turner have already added this one on their Christmas wish list to Santa Paws.
Bronx and Lulu's High-sided Staffie Steps to Bedtime
Hayley wanted to make sure her super Staffie furamily Bronx and Lulu could reach bedtime in safety and style so asked if we'd make a set of steps with high sides. As always, we love the challenge of a custom design so working with Hayley we came up with this design. We're told that it was an instant hit and both Bronx and Lulu took to using their new steps in no time at all. The design has created quite a stir and we've since created a few more exactly the same.
Melissa's Ramp/ Step Combo
Melissa needed a ramp for her bed but wanted it to take as little space as possible. We came up with this design which has two slopes and two small 7cm (3") steps along with a higher side to the right and back to give some added reassurance. It reaches a height of 61cm (24") with our standard 30 degree gradient while only being 105cm (42") long.
Rupert's Dual Steps of Balcony Bliss
Katie asked us to make two sets of steps to place either side of the door to her balcony. The door had a pet flap which Rupert, her Pomeranian struggled to reach. We made the outdoor steps from pressure treated timber so they could be left outside and the indoor steps were upholstered in a lovely ruby red carpet.
Beatriz's Shortened Teckel Ramp
Beatriz needed a ramp to allow her Teckel to climb to her bed but wanted to make it as compact as possible. We made this design with a step up at the foot of the ramp
